Conditions of Insurance For All Deliveries
ParcelX Ltd liability for loss or damage is limited to the lower of the cost of goods or £10 per kg up to 25kg (volumetric and actual weight, whichever is the highest) and 1.4m in length, with an excess of £50 providing the customer has signed a contract and payment for labels has been received before parcels are dispatched.
It is essential that all parcels are suitably packaged before being offered for transportation. Parcels that are deemed to be insufficiently packaged are not covered by insurance.
Damaged items must be signed for on receipt as damaged.
Items outside the current ParcelX Ltd Rate Schedule Cubing Guide and weight restrictions will not be covered by our insurance.
If we decide to send items that are outside our rate schedule cubing and weight restrictions, through Night Freight Ltd, their terms and conditions will apply.
Parcels over 1.4 m long are not covered by our insurance.
Third party collections and carriage forwards are not covered by our insurance.
Limitation of Liability
Below is a list of goods that are not covered under the standard company insurance but will be carried at the owners risk only. ParcelX Ltd and our sub- contractor shall not be liable in any case whatsoever for indirect or consequential loss.
Antiques, bullion, cashiers cheques, ceramics, china, cigarettes, computers, currency, furs, glass, jewellery, laptops, liquids, liquor, livestock, mobile phones, money orders, paint, perishables, plasma screens, pottery, precious metals, precious stones, securities, stamps, second-hand items including second-hand vehicle parts, tobacco, travellers cheques, watches, wines & spirits, works of art.
Items over 1.4m in length.
Third party collections and carriage forwards.
In case of international consignments, in addition to the aforesaid items, the following items will not be covered.
Drugs & pharmaceuticals, firearms, foodstuff, human remains, lewd obscene pornographic materials, plants.
Items outside the current ParcelX Ltd rate schedule cubing guide and weight restrictions.
Style of Packing
It is essential that all consignments are suitably packaged before being offered for transportation. Bicycles must be packaged in original boxes to be covered for insurances purposes. Large awkward parcels are not covered by insurance and are carried at owners’ risk. Consignments that are insufficiently packaged are not covered by insurance.
Time Limit For Claims
ParcelX Ltd and our sub-contractors will consider claims that are reported within 7 days of dispatch. Please inform ParcelX Ltd on 01452 643043 of any claims verbally as soon as possible and follow up in writing within 7 days from the date of dispatch. Failure to do so may invalidate the claim.
Damage /Shortage from consignment: please advise verbally on the day of delivery and follow claim in writing to ParcelX Ltd within 7 days from the date of dispatch. If goods are damaged or short from consignment, they must be signed for as such. Failure to do so may invalidate the claim.
ParcelX Ltd shall not be liable for any loss or damage to any consignment in the following circumstances:-
- Deliveries signed for as received in good condition will not be eligible for claims for damage
- Notification of any loss/damage after 7 days may not be considered.
- Failure to complete any supporting documentation requested by ParcelX Ltd or their agents within defined time limitations.
- Any consignment collected on your behalf from a third party.
Claims in Writing
The initial letter needs to include the original ParcelX Ltd label number, date of dispatch and whether the consignment was damaged or lost. Photographic evidence of damage and documentary proof of the cost value and sales value will be required.
Return of Damaged Goods
All damaged goods returned to you must be kept in a safe place, together with the packaging and made available for inspection by an appointed Assessor. If goods cannot be repaired and the full replacement cost is claimed, then we may request return of the damaged goods. The disposal of damaged goods will invalidate the claim.
Non-payment of invoices by the specified date because of an insurance claim or dispute, may invalidate any subsequent claim.
These conditions and each, and every, contract made under these conditions shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with English Law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
